mark scheme

This is the scheme i'll be following when doing your review. By reading this you should get a pretty good idea of what mark you'll get, but you can never be too sure ;)

section 1 - first impressions

Mark: /20

In this section I will be looking at your layout and css - if your layout is attractive and well made and if your CSS is clear and goes well with the layout.

what will mark you down:
- Hard-to-read fonts and colours
- A simple/boring layout which doesn't require much CSS/graphics knowledge
- Garish colours and fonts
- Messy positioning

section 2 - content

Mark: /40

In this section I will look at your visitor content - graphics, resources and tutorials. I am looking for clean, unique graphics, different and easy-to-use resources and helpful tutorials for all beginners, intermediates and advanced graphics makers & coders.

What will mark you down:
- Unoriginal content which can be found on every graphics site
- Badly made graphics/resources
- Only simple tutorials for those who have never used PSP/Photoshop before

secion 3 - blogs

Mark: /10

Here I will look at the content and frequency of blogs. Blogs that are interesting to read and are updated regularly will score high.

What will mark you down:
- really long and uninteresting blogs
- Blogs written every month or so (a.k.a not regularly)
- Blogs which are hard for visitors to comment on. For example, a blog about a random song you just made up on the spot and no-one has ever heard of before.
- Blogs with only one subject.

section 4 - other pages

Mark: /20

This section is about your other pages and how organized they are, all the pages about your website - from affiliates to about you. I'll also be looking for other things your site offers apart from content. For example, advertising, reviews, help etc...

What will mark you down:
- None/hardly any information about your website and yourself
- Not offering anything else apart from average/unoriginal graphics, resources and tutorials
- Missing vital pages such as credits, contact etc..

section 5 - other opinions

Mark: /10

Visitors are vital to any site so I will be asking some of your commenters and affiliates what they think of you and the site - how helpful it is, if you return comments etc...

What will mark you down:
- If you don't comment back commenters or regularly comment affiliates
- Visitors not finding your site useful or different
- Visitors not thinking you a nice person

total marks: /100

To get anywhere near full marks you must have something different and unique about your website, something that stands out. Whether it be you and your personality or your breathtaking CSS, i'm looking for a website that exceeds expectations.
Anything above 70 is pretty good.
